Pain Patterns

Chronic pain is a phenomenon that eludes visibility. The sensation of pain is complex and individual: it is shaped not only by physical signals, but also by emotions, personal interpretations, learning processes, and cultural and social factors. This gives rise to individual patterns in the experience and management of pain that often remain unreadable to outsiders.

How can the invisible be made visible?

My photographic work searches for a language beyond words. Techniques such as multiple exposures, overlays, and reflections create images that are not documentation, but rather capture subjective interpretations.

Pain Patterns explores the intersection between pain medicine and photography: a visual reflection on that which eludes language.
